Welcome to the Bungou Stray Dogs official group page! As you would expect, this group page is meant for roleplay in the Bungou-verse, as the fandom affectionately calls it. We accept canon characters and OCs in the group, but we do ask that you take the rules into consideration for what is, and is not allowed in general, and for OC creation. There are just a couple of rules - nothing too serious! For the most part, this is completely finished, but information is subject to change at any time. Bear with us as we adjust things, and make yourself at home.
AUTHORITY
These are the people responsible for the well-being of the room, the group page, and doling out discipline to those deserving of it; should you have questions, comments, or concerns in regards to the Bungou Stray Dogs room, please PM one of them and they will do their best to assist you.

ABOUT
"Bungo Stray Dogs," often stylized as "Bungou Stray Dogs" is a manga created by Kafka Asagiri and illustrated by Sango Harukawa. It began in 2012, and in 2014, it came in at number 11 for the "Nationwide Bookstore Employees' Recommended Comics of 2014." On April 7th, 2016, an anime adaption by Bones began airing; on October 6th, 2016, the second season began airing. An OVA was released August 4th, 2017. A movie is in production, and is expected to release in early 2018.
Nakajima Atsushi was kicked out of his orphanage, and now he has no place to go and no food. While he is standing by a river, on the brink of starvation, he rescues a man whimsically attempting suicide. That man is Dazai Osamu, and he and his partner Kunikida are members of a very special detective agency. They have supernatural powers and deal with cases that are too dangerous for the police or the military. They're tracking down a tiger that has appeared in the area recently, around the time Atsushi came to the area. The tiger seems to have a connection to Atsushi, and by the time the case is solved, it is clear that Atsushi's future will involve much more of Dazai and the rest of the detectives!
The story centers on individuals who are gifted with super natural powers and use them for different purposes including holding a business, solving mysteries, and carrying out missions assigned by the mafia. The story mainly follows the members of the "Armed Detective Agency" and their everyday lives. Most characters in the series are named after famous literary authors and/or characters in their works.

THE ARMED DETECTIVE AGENCY
The Armed Detective Agency (Buso Tantei-sha) is a group focused on solving crimes which are considered too violent or difficult for the Military Police to handle. Often, these crimes are of a supernatural origin. Nearly all of the detectives within the company have their own special powers known as Abilities.
In order to join the agency, candidates must take a test that evaluates his/her righteousness, prowess, wisdom, morality, and genuiness of spirit. If the testee passes the exam, only then will he/she become an official member. As the current Director of the Agency is Fukuzawa Yukichi, all people that are official members are affected by his Ability.
THE PORT MAFIA
The Port Mafia (Poto Mafia) is an underground organization run by Mori Ougai based in Japan. They also have an Ability Business Permit allowing them to conduct their activities in a "legal way." They are known as Yokohama's "Wardens of the Night."
According to Higuchi, the Mafia has dozens of enterprises under their control. It also exceeds in politics and as well as economics and its influence is found many sections of Yokohama city.
Those who defy them will only burn and not survive.
THE GUILD
The Guild (Girudo) is an American organization lead by Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald, and also a Secret Society.
According to Ango Sakaguchi, their influence is not limited within North America. They are even capable of eating their way into the very heart of Japan. The Members have been granted a Diplomat's level of Authority in by the means of pressuring the government through Diplomacy.
They enjoy extra-territorial rights, and allegedly, even the Japanese law enforcement can't hold them in custody.
THE OFFICIAL RULES SECTION
Sadly, because not everyone behaves the right way, and everyone is different, we do have to enforce some rules to keep this group going strong. While they aren't anything too serious, we do ask that you look at them prior to joining the room, and make sure that your characters fit the requirements set in place. Those in charge of the room have sworn to uphold the rules in the fairest manner, and they will never act without reason and evidence to support their decisions.
These rules are subject to change at any time, and we ask that you follow them accordingly.
× THIS IS A BUNGOU STRAY DOGS RP ROOM.
That means that your character should be aimed strictly for Bungou Stray Dogs roleplay. If you have an OC for the room, please refer to the Q & A section for advice.
× ROOM LURKING.
If you come in the room to lurk, and the mods recognize you as someone who desires to only write NSFW content, or someone who isn't genuinely interested in writing in the Bungou Stray Dogs verse, they have the right to ask you to leave, or to kick you out of the room.
× REGARDING DISCIPLINARY ACTION...
The room's authority operates on a strike system. This is the most effective method of dealing with problem causers in the room.
× First: you will receive up to three warnings for whatever it is that you're doing.
× Second: you will be kicked if you refuse to stop causing problems.
× Third: if, after all this, you continue to be a problem to the room, you will be banned. You may make your appeal to be unbanned by speaking with Chuuya. If he is away, you may leave a PM and he will take your unbanning into consideration with his moderator.
There is no guarantee that you will be unbanned; you may make an appeal once, and that is all.
Please not that not even the authority of the room are exempt from the rules. If they disobey them, they will be punished, too.
× LEAVE DRAMA OUT OF THE ROOM.
This room is meant for fun, and writing. If you have issues with a member of the room outside of the room, block them and move on. Leave any long-standing drama outside of the room, or keep it to PMs. The room authority will not handle PM drama unless circumstances are serious (stalking, constant harassment, etc.)
× POST LENGTH.
There's no real requirement for post length. You can shitpost, write one or two lines, or go full on para-novella. Whatever you'd like to do is up to you. We don't ask that you omit OOC remarks completely - they're more than welcome - but if people are RPing and ask you to lower the OOC chatter, please do.
× SMUT/NSFW RP IS FORBIDDEN.
Romance is fine/cute most times. The furthest that anything should go in the room is kissing; anything heavier than that should be taken to PMs for the comfort of other inhabitants of the room.
× NSFW CONTENT IN PROFILES...
We ask that you keep your NSFW content in links and put a forewarning that the images are NSFW. If there is NSFW content in your profile, we ask that your character be above the age of 18. Underage smut profiles are forbidden from the room.
× BE RESPECTFUL.
This goes without question. If someone wants you to stop discussing something (race, religion, sexuality, whatever), please stop. If it becomes an issue, bring it to one of the mods.
× DOUBLES ARE ALLOWED.
Doubles are welcome, but please get a feel for the room first. For example, if there's an Atsushi RPing with a Dazai in the room, and your character is also an Atsushi, don't just intersect their RP. This ties in with being respectful.
× ALTERNATE NAMES...
Because we want to keep the group open to allowing characters from all parts of the series, there is a limit to the number of alts you're allowed to bring into the room to seriously RP. You are allowed to have two characters in the room to write seriously with. In the concerns of shitposting and having a good time, you may have up to three names in the room at all times.
× BECAUSE THIS IS AN ISSUE, APPARENTLY.
Please don't make jokes about sexual assault, rape, or abuse. Just don't do it. This subject has been the source of many people's discomfort and for that reason alone, this is one of the only exceptions to the "three warnings" rule. You will be kicked immediately for making these jokes. If you want to make those jokes, make them in PM, away from people who have no interest in seeing it. This is your warning.

× IS THIS LIKE, THE OFFICIAL PAGE?
It is! We're constantly adding, taking away, and adjusting it. Feel free to check in whenever - I can almost guarantee that something will have changed since the last time you looked at it!
× COOL, CAN I JOIN?
Of course you can! We're pretty open to letting in anyone interested in the Bungou-verse. The exception to this, is if you're a known troublemaker, or if your character is an OC. If your character is an OC, please refer to rule three.
× I'M AN OC. ANY RULES FOR ME IN THE PLOT, ETC?
There's only a couple of rules off the bat that OCs need to be aware of:
× Don't godmod.
× Make sure your character and their ability are believable.
This does not mean that your character can be the most attractive, amazing, intelligent character in the series, and your character cannot have the most ridiculously overpowered ability, either. (I don't care how ridiculous some of those abilities were. I'm looking at you, Fitzgerald.)
× CAN I USE/TAKE THIS GROUP PAGE?
The answer to that, without change, is: no. Chuuya spent a lot of time working on this to try and make it look nice for this group only. Dazai helped him make a lot of adjustments to make this page what it is. Long story short, a lot of love and work was put into this page. You may not use it.
× DID THE MOD OR ADMIN IGNORE MY MESSAGE?
The admin of Bungou Stray Dogs deals with college, and the mod focuses on work. Those things have their undivided attention around 50% of the time, but they do check their messages/try to respond in a timely fashion when they're around.
tl;dr, probably not. They've just been busy and will respond when they have the time, or RPH ate the message, since that's an issue that occurs.
× CAN I BE A MOD/CO-OWNER?
Not at the moment, no. Moderation has already been placed in the hands of someone Chuuya trusts with it. If the room becomes larger and requires more moderation, Chuuya will discuss it with Dazai and moderation will go to one more person who is deserving of it.
× ON A SCALE OF 1-10, HOW BAD IS DAZAI?
Feh. He's the worst. I'd rather cut off both legs than work with him at any given time!
