Rules

Respect each other. This room doesn't care about outside drama, relationships, feuds, or anything else.

Love one another. This room isn't a place where people will get mocked. We're here to write and create characters.

Keep Drama IC. The only drama we want to see is between two characters, not people.

Don't Judge. Not everyone will be to your liking. That's fine. Everyone is different. Please don't judge people for who they are.

Enjoy yourself. This room was meant as a safe haven for people who didn't want to spend all of their time shit posting in a larger room. It's meant for creative freedom and a good time.

The Room

There we were, sitting in a room full of people who were enjoying their life shit posting. They loved to tease each other and yell out things like “You’re a shart!” or “Touch me, Nii-san!”. They laughed and joked about their lives, their friendships and their hobbies. They met up in groups to play League of Legends or Among Us. There was nothing wrong with what they doing. It just wasn’t what we wanted to do all the time.

We sat at our computers griping about the good ole days. The days when everyone was IC and they all rped openly in rooms. We bitched and whined that it was too hard to find role play now adays. We talked about all the cliques and how shitty people could be. In the end, we didn’t get anywhere because we were too busy bitching. So finally, we stopped, realized we were being shitty little assholes covered in kumquat, and we made this room.

This room does not have a specific setting or genre. (Though some of us have created a fantasy world to rp in) It doesn’t restrict characters. It’s a place full of open, welcoming people who just want to write and have a good time. This doesn’t mean that every character will work well, or that people won’t clash. It just means that we’re here to support creativity and rather than tear each other part, we want to build a pleasant experience for everyone involved.

Does this sound like something you want to do? That’s great! All you need to do is join the room, we don’t have any restrictions beyond being kind and respectful of one another. If you aren't sure where to start or what setting to play in, we have listed a few options that you may like. Nothing is set in stone, these are just helpful ideas for inspiration.

»» Scenery

» Rundown Bar/Tavern

We all know this place. It’s the place your DM takes you when you don’t have much gold and you don’t want to be fancy. It’s the place that grizzled men with guns drink and talk about their time in the war against aliens. It’s that place where people go to do shady things in the corner. Most people avoid places like this, but here in RP land we strive on the places you wouldn’t go IRL. It’s kind of dingy, definitely needs to be cleaned, and they definitely don’t serve mixed drinks or milk.

» The Ruins

This could be the ruins of New York City after the invasion of aliens/zombies/whatever. It could be the ruins of a tribe, clan, city, kingdom after dragons attacked. This could be the ruins of lost gods, shunned as betrayers by their believers. This could literally be any type of ruin you want it to be. This could be a nice setting if you’re looking for survivors or trying to avoid going to a bar/inn/tavern/sex club.

» Island/Space Station

You could be on an island, it could float, it could also be in space. This is a nice secluded space that does not always have to have a town attached to it. It definitely could though. Are you the only one on this island? Have you found a tribe of people? Are they nice? Will you survive? Are there aliens?

» Nature

Clear in the woods? Snowy field of dead bodies? Rough and tumble mountains? Weird path through a spooky forest? Nature has limitless possibilities. You don’t need cities and towns and other things! You can have trees, or fissures, or endless desert that never seems to let up and you have no food and water, but you must survive by drinking your own pee? That’s just gross, don’t do that.

» Medical/Science Facility

Are you sick? Are you a doctor? An experiment? A scientist? ALL OF THE ABOVE? Let me tell you how this place would be grand for you to try out. You can make this anything you want. It doesn’t have to even be illegal or weird, it could just be a regular old hospital. Who knows, maybe you fell and need stitches? Or maybe they are making super soldiers underground and they need to harvest organs for them.

» Airport/Spaceport

Are you waiting for a shuttle? Do you need to get somewhere fast? Maybe you missed where you were going so you need to stick around. We don’t know. We don’t judge. We’re only hear to wonder why you just spent nine dollars on that bagel. Could it really be THAT good? I don’t think so. You know you could buy that at the store for like two dollars. Some bullshit.

» Ship

Whether your vessel is by sea, air, or space, this is always an interesting place to start playing. How do you fit into the ship? Why are you there? Are you supposed to be there? Is it pirates? Smugglers? The Royal Navy/Command? There are limitless possibilities here.

» Volcano

Why you ask? Why not? Who doesn’t want to be at a volcano? You can see the smoke rising from the top. Is there a demon or magical creature housed there? Will it blow at any moment? Are you going to sacrifice poor innocent people to the gods? No one knows! All we know is it’s a mother fucking volcano!
